there are some formulas that my teacher reviews taht is NOT in this book, but not many and the formulas are minor - I love the detail, comparisons, the organization and the ease of access of the information.there are charts that make your life much easier when you are trying to determine which formula to use and when.
For any student of Oriental medicine, this is a "must have" reference and study resource. Formulas can be daunting given the sheer number of herbs and diagnoses involved. Although it doesn't cover all the formulas required for national or state Boards, it has all the major ones, which form the basis of the Materia Medica. The comparison charts are fantastic and the overviews for each category are clear and concise.

Fantastic and a must have for CALE
I find this book very helpfull for studying herbal formulas. I would recommend it to any TCM student and may be even practitioner.
Great! No problems.
If you are a student of TCM, I would not recommend this text. I didn't find it to be comprehensive enough for the curriculum being taught in school. The comparisons of formulas it does make are helpful, but it leaves out relevant formulas that may be taught in class.
