This is a guide every writer should have in their personal library. I have multiple writing guides but this is by far my favorite of them all. I still refer to it at times when I need to jog my mind or review the technical aspects of rhetoric. This writing handbook has always reminded me of the technical manuals mechanics use to make their repairs. This of course is an older edition but it is still such a great guide that it will make any writer from novice to professional better at their craft.
Ebook is crap because you can’t use Control+F and the search function for the reader doesn’t find the word, just the page. Not ideal for quick referencing. Severely disappointed because I can’t return it. I now have to purchase the actual book at the same price. Worst thing I’ve ever bought on Amazon after 6 years.
This book was supposed to be "New" not slightly used. It served its purpose but I paid for New.
This is my textbook for a college course. I rent my textbooks whenever possible. This one arrived hot off the presses! I don't think it had ever been used. Some of the other books I've rented have been cheaper, but they were well broken in.
This was a textbook for my English Writing Class -- considering that I am an international student this book was very helpful. This book has the basics of how to write different types of essay and how each essay should be organized. Moreover, each type of essay is illustrated by several essays written and published by prestigious magazines, books, pamphlets etc.This book is very helpful for the students trying to learn how to better write in English.A minus in this book would the fact that it doesn't contain as much grammar information as a non-native speaker needs.Price is overall good also the best if you are looking to buy this book. However, if you are considering just renting this book then look somewhere else -- the renting price on Amazon is relatively high comparing to other renting sites (check out knetbooks.com).In general I would recommend this book; I received it very fast after the order was placed and the book itself has many strong points that anyone can find useful.
The book was one that was requested by my professor. This was my first time using the textbook rental and it was amazing simple and easy. The book was in good condition and the return was as easy as printing a return label and taking it to be mailed.
I rented this for my Kindle Paperwhite but was disappointed as it is only compatible with the Kindle Fire as well as applications. After using Calibre to convert it to epub it worked great on my Kindle and was able to use it for class. That being said the text book is well rounded however it has a definitive political bias in my opinion.
I bought this book used and I was very pleased to see how good the condition of the book was. It was very useful for helping me write my essays. It’s full of tips and examples to help improve anyone’s writing. I used Norton Field Guide for my college English course but It can be very useful for any course that involves writing.
