So far this is the book I disliked most of this series. For some reason it rubbed me all wrong. I hated the Ocretions before but HHV just drove that to a whole new level. Daneth was also not my favourite male lead. He's just too much of a cliche. As a scientist myself (well one still in training) I resent the stereotype of the cold always logical lab rat. We do not shut off our emotions. In fact we're mostly acting like children when not trying to secure funding :DI liked Bayla and could understand her reasoning. I would probably have done something similar in her place. Also I would have tried to kill the bastard owning me in his sleep not only screwing over his experiment.I kind of want to see a novel in this world where the human woman doesn't get off on the dominance stuff and see how the male who's been thought that it's the way humans like it will deal with the situation. I know it's unlikely but still I hope. And with this I finished all the published books of the series and can't wait to see if the Zandians will finally make the attempt at reclaiming their planet.
I continue to feel that each book in this series just continues to get better and better. In this fifth one, the Zandian doctor, Daneth, purchases a test subject who immediately becomes much, much more to him. The pairing of the seemingly very different types in this couple is simply amazing and captures some of the best sex scenes that I have read in a while. There is plenty of kink and D/s with spanking. Bayla, the main female character is extremely unique, very sexy and very smart, which is possibly the key component that makes this story so good.
Well. This alien is a douche. Dr Meanie. Some of the guys in the series are real jerkholes who don’t consider humans have feelings. He’s one of those. He’s gonna breed this woman, only she’s had kids taken from her before. It’s a donor alien egg though and a soldier’s sperm, not the drs. The human female slaves feelings on the breeding are too real. What’s not so real is her absolute desire and submission to the dr considering the situation. That was off for me. Leaves me torn on the story. On the one hand, wow, packs a deep punch emotionally; but then on the other there is this uneven treatment of the slave mentality. The story line was really good. I just don’t know that this particular story is for me, I do recommend it to other readers into the alien-human slave genre. There were some very sexy scenes, I could do with less use of the word veking in repetition...just say F***ing already!👀
I was shocked at how absolutely passionate Daneth is in his story. Being a scientist for his race he seemed so clinical and cold in the other books. We see a completely different side to his character in this book. I expected him to learn how to feel passion and sensual awakening from his mate. Man was I totally shocked when he leaned into the pleasure and pain of dominating his mate. Daneth shocked me and had me laughing and shouting all through the book. This was that good. It's like reading an romantic alien soap opera. The action is used to introduce a new character for the next installment. The eroticism is on point and the female lead here is the perfect submissive balance for Daneth. Five stars, loved it! ☺
Well this series is getting interesting , the males are possessive as ever and the females are plotting and trying to survive the hand they have been dealt as slaves. I enjoyed this series, things are changing for the sandÃa a and the change for them is helping humans in the process. I think a mistake people are making when interpreting these books are that they think with the mindset of humans being free which in this world they are not. All humans are enslave by the Ocreatians and being bought by another race and being offered freedom in support of freeing the zandian world is an opportunity to fight for that freedom we all want.
I have enjoyed this series so far, but not this installment. It has been my understanding since the beginning of this series that the Zandians are adamant about NOT keeping slaves. However, Daneth has seemed to be pro-slave since the first book and he takes it to a whole new level in this one. What irks me even more is that in the last book when we see him carrying Bayla down the hallway he specifically tells other people that he bought her for his experiments BUT that he would only continue to use her at her consent. Then he promptly proves what complete BS that really was. He never tells her that she is not longer a slave, he specifically leads her to believe she is still a slave, forces her to call him Master and doesn't even let her have a voice about all the things he's doing to her and forcing her body to endure! He doesn't care about her mental health AT ALL. He doesn't take any time to explain anything to her, he forces her to sleep in a cage and even gets pissed when she asks for clothes. It doesn't make any difference that he "learned" by the end of the story to treat her like a person. The point is, he took a woman and used her and treated her in exactly the opposite way his entire race of people supposedly believes in and he did it without any remorse whatsoever.
I love this series, but I think this one was my favorite. The Dr. Bought a human slave to breed his species. Things go awry, a misunderstanding insues, and our heroine goes on to pursue a different career for the Zandians. A surprise reunion brings them back together. Yay! I would definitely recommend.
Another thrilling instalment of the Zandian epic. Once again, emotions have to be learned and communicated. If you don't like the thought of abortion for any reason, you may loose some respect for Bayla, the heroine. However, any woman who has ever lost a child can sympathize.
